Works and Achievements
Orleans Shoring was featured in Structural Moving magazine in 2009 for elevating St. Michele Plantation in Houma. Our expert team elevated the 5550 square foot structure 10 feet in the air. The foundation consisted of various sized footings and grade beam construction, and separate slabs under the additions to the home. The separate slabs had to be bolted together to stabilize the structure in order to elevate. The 640 ton structure was elevated in 2 lifts. The first lift brought the home to 4 1/2 feet and then the building was stabilized. The final lift brought the home to 10 feet above ground level. This complex lift exemplifies the quality and expertise of Orleans Shoring’s crews.
In 2010, Orleans Shoring presented numerous informational seminars in Orleans and Jefferson parish regarding the OCD-DRU’s elevation program. The presentations provided information on how to fill out documents, how to contact the proper agency such as Road Home or OCD-DRU, and vetting a contractor.
